U+A’s strategy for masterplans focuses on realizing our client’s grand ambitions and visions. Masterplans change and impact city skylines, and make historical statements. That’s why we come in with a high level of expertise and responsibility towards communities, cities and regions at large, and aim to design for the good of the city. With this larger philosophy underpinning our approach, U+A creates profound connections between buildings, social settings and the surrounding environment. We integrate our deep understanding of socio-economic needs with our rich experience in design to generate thoughtful and successful masterplans that cater to the image, heritage and character of urban areas.
Methodology + Design Approach
Thoughtful design is rooted in local culture, and can often be a catalyst for socially sustainable urban transformation. When we approach masterplan projects, our aims are multifold: we design for positive impacts today, as well as for positive impacts tomorrow. While we look at all aspects of a project, from client needs to budget and timeframe, we also remain steadfast in our responsibility towards creating sustainable communities for generations to come.
As projects progress, we analyze the needs of the inhabiting communities and ensure that our solutions not only meet their needs, but also offer innovative ways to move forward. Our sensitively-designed masterplans offer a seamless context for communities to thrive in, spurring growth and contentment.
With a number of award-winning masterplan projects in our portfolio, our experience has been very much about understanding how people live, as well as how they’re changing in a post-Covid world.
With current events constantly changing the way the world looks and behaves, it’s imperative to design for flexibility, allowing communities to change and grow as they need to. Understanding this, U+A strives to always be at the cutting edge of ideas and trends, ensuring that its work remains connected to the ever-changing tides of modern lifestyles.
