Senior Interior Designer
Qualifications:
• Must have a professional degree (Bachelor or Master) in Architecture or Interior Design
• Minimum eight (8) years’ work experience in an architectural design firm
• Strong ability to use software such as InDesign, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop, BIM 360
• Good communication, efficiency, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Working knowledge of:
o Design and construction processes and sequence
o Interior architecture and detailing for preparation of construction documents
o Building and Accessibility codes
o Furniture installation plans and specifications for bid purposes or direct purchase
o Construction administration experience: RFI’s, submittal review, field observation
Authorities:
Responsible for developing, managing, and recording design and technical aspects of the project. Work closely with the design/project managers, design coordinators, and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production. Senior Interior Designer must be responsible for project deliverables, meeting overall project design schedules, as well as preparing and presenting design presentations. Must inform the Project Manager of progress or any bottlenecks. Attend meetings with the Project Managers.
Responsibilities:
• Create and present interior design concepts in response to client requirements
• Create estimates, schedules, and staffing plans to complete projects
• Use software to design, sketch, and provide presentations and drawings of proposed projects
• Work with clients to define project requirements and develop design criteria
• Interpret program requirements, develop block plans, adjacency diagrams and detailed designs
• Coordinate all trades throughout the design and construction process
• Complete business and project forms, understanding contracts for services
• Survey building interiors
• Research and being resourceful in order to obtain project information; fabrics, furniture, architectural elements
• Prepare plans, specifications and bid packages
• Develop detailed furniture plans specifications and bid packages
• Understand project schedules
• Develop documentation at an excellent production level
• May be required to perform other duties as deemed necessary as a Senior Interior Designer
