Police Academy

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ project consists of 3 plots. Each plot has its own unique program. The plot 01 is composed of the GHQ on 5 levels, a conference facility and staff housing. The main entrance is along the long elevation of the building on centre, where as the front face the street is for VIP and Conference delegates. At the opposite side, staff may enter the housing lobby to directly access their units without crossing public areas. The plot 02 is composed of the GHQ on 14 levels, leased offices and staff housing splitting the building in 2 main blocks. The GHQ main entrance is on the right hand-side of the front elevation of the building, where as the office entrance is on the left hand-side. The staff housing is accessible from the GHQ lobby. Plot 03 is a composition of buildings. The GHQ on 14 levels is located at the south-east corner, an office block at the north-east, and a residential at the west side of the site.

The architecture reflects the protective power of the Police force. A solid organic ring wraps around the building and is the main circulation for the conference facilities. In-bound the ring, are the atrium and a monolithic screened box acting as the core of the facilities and all its functions.
