What To Expect
Interning at U+A is an opportunity to bolster each student’s education with quality professional practice, channeling one’s academic training towards a focused career. U+A’s internship programs span the company’s various disciplines, and provide trainees with an inspiring environment for learning and gaining invaluable work experience. The programs not only offer aspiring professionals a platform to demonstrate their talent, but they also enable the transferring of academic achievements into practice.
Within U+A’s architecture department, interns work pro-actively among teams rich in diverse backgrounds, professional focuses and exciting projects. During their time with U+A, interns learn the fundamentals of architectural design, practice proposing ideas, gain an understanding of local regulations, and hone their software abilities using applications such as Revit, Sketch-Up, and Adobe CC. Simply put: U+A’s architecture interns learn how to think and perform as future architects.
Similarly, within the company’s interior design department, interns interact with our designers while aiding the preparation of presentations, taking part in concept and material research exercises (thereby exploring the vast palette of materials made available at the U+A office), and developing an efficient use of Revit to turn out designs.
Students that intern with U+A’s construction management team are also offered a unique opportunity, in which they experience one of our many ongoing projects on site and hands-on. Trainees acquire a set of skills that are unattainable outside of real-life practice, and learn how to apply their knowledge of construction while directly interacting with the builders.
